The Kochuba family is back from vacation and our “shop” is in full swing! We had a wedding today so Lisa and Jennifer worked like crazy this week and this morning creating and setting up the tropical-inspired florals for the event. Stay tuned for photos!!
We returned home from our family vacation (#kochubacation) last week, and it was the craziest trip of excitement, family time, pasta, flowers, water taxi rides, lemoncello, heat waves and fun! Last year my brothers Taylor and Christian both graduated from college and my dad celebrated his retirement (talk about a busy year!). We decided to celebrate through a family vacation, and after a collective vote on Christmas Eve we began planning (and saving!) for this special trip. We spent several days in the Swiss Alps, toured our way around Rome and finished our trip with a quick stay in Venice. Mom, Christian and I were so inspired by the different types of flowers and greenery during our travels – I thought I’d share some photos here in a 3 part series to highlight each locale.
Our first stop was a small town in Switzerland called Weggis. OH my stars – was this place AMAZING! Never in my life have I seen such beauty. It was so crazy – every tree, bush, plant, etc. was in bloom during our stay there. I’m not sure if this is a seasonal phenomenon or if the moon and stars aligned during our trip? Either way, it made our stay breathtakingly beautiful. We could not get over how meticulously manicured every flower bed, flower box and garden was maintained! The Swiss are doing flower care right! Our little hotel was situated on Lake Lucerne, and the larger city of Lucerne was only a few miles away. We were grateful for the opportunity to venture to the city during one of our days in Switzerland and explore the shops and scenery there. Aside from the high food prices, Switzerland was truly paradise! We’d love to know – have you visited Switzerland? Share about your experience in the comments!
Enjoy some highlights from our stay (photos from Katie, Lisa & Christian):
Perfect flower boxes!! How do they do it?
Aren’t these flower towers cool? Also note the adorable nuns posing for a photo with the tower – too cute!
Thanks for reading! Stay tuned for highlights from Rome and Venice.
